Spinach is calcium-rich and a wonderful quick puree to make for your little one from 6m+ 👶
We had some fresh spinach in the fridge that needed eating... so here is a quick step by step to making your own spinach puree for baby:
1. Wash spinach
2. Steam spinach for 3-5 minutes until wilted in a steamer.
3. Puree the spinach with a hand blender until smooth, add a little water or even formula or breast milk for creamier consistency.
4. Mix with other veggies to tickle those little tastebuds - try carrot, sweet potato, chicken, salmon, pasta or rice.
++ For adults, like me, who don't like spinach so much... add sautéed onions, garlic and a dollop of creme fraiche or plain yoghurt to give it a bit of extra flavour and serve as side dish.
